Three Reasons Why You Need A New Head-Shot

Whether we like it or not, social media has not only taken over our lives, but it is our life.

It’s how we connect, stay connected, and grow our network.

One thing’s for sure, the image you show on any social media channel matters.

It’s the first view that someone has of you and within a matter of seconds, that view turns into assumptions and judgements about who you are, what you do, and perhaps your character.

While certain social media channels lean towards personal lives, LinkedIn focuses on the professional side and the image presented represents who you are without saying a word.

It you’re not sure whether you need a new head-shot or not, here are three reasons why you do:

1)      A cell-phone shot, selfie, and pics from someone’s wedding send the message that you don’t care enough about your career to invest in your image. Your photo is your storefront. How do you want to appear?

2)     People DO care what you look like and not just what you have to sell to them. This is their first impression of you. Second chances at first impressions are not available for sale.

3)     It’s affordable. For $100, you can have a professional head-shot, with proper lighting and focus, which is best achieved by a pro.

Sarah Miller Photography made it easy for me to get a new head-shot. She visited my pop-up trunk show, and took away the fear of catching a bad angle. Sarah guided me on how to pose and helped me stay relaxed so that my expressions were authentic. She understood how to create flattering lighting and capture me at my best.

Sarah is great at what she does because she loves connecting with people, finding out what she has in common with them, what makes them laugh, and what makes them feel powerful.

She aims to bring out the best in everyone and capture authentic and flattering images in a way that’s easy and fun and that showcases everyone’s best expression.

“I think all people are interesting, and beautiful… no matter their age, size, gender…”

Thank you, Sarah, we think so too.

In love and professional head-shots,
